Founded in 1936, Peninsula Section is the organizational home of some 1800 interested and active women and men. Peninsula Section strives to achieve the mission of NCJW within Long Island's Five Towns and surrounding communities.

The National Council of Jewish Women is a volunteer organization that has been at the forefront of social change for over a century. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW courageously takes a progressive stance on issues such as child welfare, women's rights, and reproductive freedom.  There are 90,000 members and supporters who are active at the grass roots level in more than 135 Sections in some 500 communities.  NCJW is the oldest, major Jewish women's organization in the United States, founded in 1893 by Hannah G. Solomon. Headquartered in New York City, Washington D.C., and Israel, its members and supporters are organized in chartered affiliates called Sections.
